White Oak

Description: White Oak is a fairly straight grained wood. It has a varied color ranging from pale yellow brown to pale brown sometimes with a pinkish tint. The texture is medium-coarse to coarse.

Mechanical Properties: Janka side hardness 1360. Shrinkage green to 12%; tangential 5.5%; Radial 3%.

Working Properties: Works readily with hand and machine tools. Glues satisfactorily.

Durability: Reasonably durable

Uses: Hardwood flooring, interior joinery, furniture, whisky casks.
