Our Plant
In 2009 the Dean Hardwoods moved its entire operations 10 miles from downtown Wilmington, NC to Leland NC. Over 3 months 100 truckloads of lumber and machinery were transported the short distance to the new facility. (insert picture of old facility and one of the new facility).
The most important addition to our new home was our showroom, allowing our customers to touch and see what our flooring and moldings will look like in their own homes. (insert picture of showroom).
The first thing our customers see is flooring made from the original decking on the U.S.S. North Carolina, the most decorated battleship in Word War II. Inlaid in that floor is a Dean Hardwoods logo made from Wenge and Maple. The doors, raised panels, chair rails, base and crowns we all manufactured from Sapele, some of which Matt Dean had sawn specifically for this project. The floors in the main showroom are Afrormosia, accented by a strip of Wenge and bordered with Quarter Sawn White Oak.
