Engineered Flooring

Advances in technology allow hardwood flooring to be used in many situations where it had not be possible before.

Engineered flooring is constructed with a veneer, up to 6mm thick, which is glued to a plywood backer. This plywood allows greater stability to the flooring, allowing it to be glued directly to concrete, whereas this is not possible with solid wood flooring.

Once installed, it is virtually impossible to distinguish between an Engineered Wood floor and a solid wood floor.

Another great environmental benefit is that much less of the valuable lumber is used to manufacture engineered flooring, as the plywood is made from wood chips that might otherwise be burned or thrown away.

Dean Hardwoods is happy to provide many engineered wood flooring options, please call us for your specific need. 910-763-5409.
